Investment Policy
Instrument Description
The Export Guarantee Fund of Iran is managed under the Iranian Ministry of Commerce to expand and promote Iranian foreign investment. Its Investment Policy protects Iranian investors solely against political risks. The product covers both the principle and interest of medium- and long-term investments by Iranian investors and can be used as security for bank loans for the project.
Political risks include:
- “Outbreak of war or state of war
- Straining or severance of diplomatic relations with the country of investment as a result of which the investor is unable to collect his receivables on the due date
- Imposition of economic policies that harm the investments
- Confiscation & nationalization of the project’s properties as a result of which the investor is unable to collects its dues”

Investments originating from an Iranian citizen or company.
