Overseas Business-Related Financial Guarantee
Instrument description
The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korean Eximbank) offers Overseas Business-Related Financial Guarantees to Korean or foreign financial institutions. To be eligible for the financial guarantee, the financial institutions is required to lend to Korean firms engaged in transactions outside South Korea or purchase bonds issued by such a company. At the same time, the Korean company in question has to be eligible for loans from the Korean Eximbank.
Eligible projects and transactions
Overseas business transactions with the involvement of Korean exporters, including infrastructure development.
Eligible regions
Korean Eximbank does not pre-determine a list of eligible countries where the Overseas Business-Related Financial Guarantee is offered. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Key features
- Size of coverage: Up to the amount of principal and interest on the debt covered.
- Tenor of coverage: Up to 60 days after the maturity date of the covered debt.
