Audrey J. Lute was born in Southern Ontario, and now lives in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba were she works from her home studio as a visual artist and children’s author.

We were thrilled to welcome Audrey to the world’s freshwater laboratory as our first artist in residence of 2024, where she spent her time developing pieces inspired by our work and landscapes, and researching a new children’s book to be based, in part, on the groundbreaking research conducted at yours truly.

Audrey has received a number of volunteer awards and in 2012 was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her contribution to arts and culture in her community. She is creating her book with At Bay Press entitled, The Pond and Beyond.
