Lake 373 is a breathtaking lake west of Pine Road, which leads to the site. Lake 373 was an important reference lake for many experiments and is now being used as a reference for the microplastics study.
With a maximum depth of 21 metres, Lake 373 is relatively deep for its size and strikingly blue in colour.
Home to cisco, trout, sculpin, darter, perch, dace, shiner, and sucker, it was an important reference lake for aquaculture and diversion experiments and is now being used as a reference for the microplastics study.
IISD-ELA has been studying fish using telemetry on this lake since 2002.
