Lake 375 is the beautiful site of a whole-ecosystem study examining the impacts of freshwater aquaculture and domestic and industrial cleaners.
Lake 375 is a beautiful lake close to Pine Road that leads to the site.
It is currently the site of a study examining the impacts of domestic and industrial cleaners on the health of fresh water.
From 2003 to 2007, approximately 10,000 rainbow trout were added each year to an aquaculture pen installed in the lake. This study was the first experiment where scientists at the Experimental Lakes Area used fish telemetry to track fish movement and behaviour in the lake. This experiment allowed us to understand how domestic rainbow trout interacted with indigenous lake trout in the lake.
