What are the effects of fisheries subsidies on fish stocks and fishing activity,? How can research on this issue and lessons from other subsidy reform experiences inform the design of new disciplines in the WTO?
We are pleased to announce our first Fisheries Subsidies event, the first in a series of activities organized by the IISD to support the WTO fisheries subsidies negotiations, will take place on Tuesday 26 February 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland.
This lunch seminar will provide an opportunity for negotiators to hear about the latest OECD research on the effects of different fisheries subsidies, and to discuss with experts how this evidence, and practical perspectives on subsidy reform, could inform the design of new disciplines in the WTO.
