Peer Learning Summit on the role of the NAP process in advancing the implementation of the adaptation goals under the Paris Agreement
Country representatives from over 20 countries will meet to explore how the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process can help advance the implementation of the adaptation goals under the Paris Agreement, with the aim to promote dialogue and exchange views on understanding potential linkages and alignment between the NAP process and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
The Peer Learning Summit’s objectives are to enhance participants’ understanding of the relationship between NAPs and NDCs, the potential benefits of aligning planning processes, and a broader understanding of how NAPs can play a role in identifying, implementing and reporting on the adaptation priorities communicated via NDCs.
An introduction to the concept of aligning global commitments like the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction can be found in the Network’s new overview brief, Alignment to Advance Climate-Resilient Development.
