Targeted Topics Forum: Troubleshooting for NAP implementation and building support for the NAP process through strategic communications
This TTF will focus on the topics of troubleshooting for NAP implementation and building support for the NAP process through strategic communications.
Targeted Topics Forum (TTF) events bring together teams from countries around the world working on National Adaptation Plan (NAP) processes, including NAP focal points, representatives of climate-sensitive sectors, and representatives from ministries of finance and/or planning, as well as donors who are providing support for adaptation and climate-resilient development.
This TTF will focus on the topics of troubleshooting for NAP implementation and building support for the NAP process through strategic communications.
The objectives of this TTF, co-hosted by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, will be for participants to:
- Identify key challenges, best practices and emerging opportunities related to NAP implementation
- Identify opportunities for strategic communications to build support for the NAP process, including developing key messages and identifying priority communications channels through which to engage audiences
- Promote dialogue between actors from developing countries and bilateral donors to exchange views on effective ways to support NAP processes.

About the NAP Global Network
The NAP Global Network was created in 2014 to support developing countries in advancing their NAP processes and to help accelerate adaptation efforts around the world. To achieve this, the Network facilitates sustained South–South peer learning and exchange, supports national-level action on NAP development and implementation, and enhances bilateral support for adaptation and climate-sensitive sectors through donor coordination. The Network’s members include participants from more than 110 countries involved in developing and implementing NAPs, as well as 11 bilateral donors. Financial support for the Network has been provided by Austria, Canada, Germany and the United States. The Secretariat is hosted by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD).
