AfCFTA Protocol on Investment finalized

The continent’s Ministers of Justice finalized legal scrubbing of the three key protocols to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), among which was the Protocol on Investment (the other two protocols deal with competition policy and intellectual property rights). The three protocols were presented for adoption to the African Union Summit in February 2023. The protocols mark conclusion of the first two phases of the AfCFTA and are likely to have great impact on investment policy-making on the continent and beyond.
