UNCITRAL 46th Session zoned in on the Advisory Centre for Investment Dispute Resolution

On 22-26 January 2024, UNCITRAL Working Group III on Reform of ISDS held its 47th session in Vienna. The majority of the session was devoted to the Draft Statute of the Advisory Centre on International Investment Dispute Resolution. The Working Group made significant progress in finalising some of the main parameters of the Advisory Centre, such as its governing structure, the scope of its services, beneficiaries, and financing. The Draft Statute is expected to be finalised at the upcoming 48th session, to be held in April in New York, and sent to the Commission for adoption in the summer. As a result, the planned discussion on the so-called Procedural and Cross-cutting Issues was delayed and took up only the last hour of the session.
