UNCTAD Multistakeholder platform holds its second meeting

The second meeting of the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Multistakeholder Platform on IIA Reform took place in September 2024. As we discussed previously, the Platform convenes experts from governments, civil society, academia, and international and regional organizations to advance reform by identifying the main obstacles to change of outdated investment treaties. The second meeting zoned in on the diverging and converging trends in IIA treaty-making, looking more closely on the drivers and inhibitors of these trends.
