Angela Tatiana Prias Mahecha
Policy Advisor
Angela is a policy advisor with IISD’s Resilience Program, where she specializes in providing technical guidance, facilitating learning exchanges, and conducting research to advance the objectives of the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Global Network.
She is an environmental engineer with experience formulating, managing, and monitoring climate change adaptation and mitigation projects. In her roles at the United Nations Environment Programme, she was involved in supporting NAP readiness projects, ecosystem-based adaptation initiatives, and leading dialogues on international climate policy items such as the consolidation of the Global Goal on Adaptation framework as well as developing national profiles on resilient food systems in collaboration with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from El Bosque University in Colombia and a master’s degree in environment and international development from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, United Kingdom. Angela is proficient in geographical information systems and communicates effectively in both Spanish and English.
