Asheline Appleton
Team Leader, Writer, Video Producer
Asheline Appleton holds an LL.M. degree from University College London (UCL) and a law degree from the University of Nairobi. She has specialized in international environmental law, particularly biodiversity and climate change. Asheline worked as a State Counsel for the Attorney-General in the department of treaties and agreements, Kenya, as well as in private practice. She has consulted for a number of international organizations and UN agencies on environmental issues.
Asheline is a published and exhibited documentary and travel photographer (www.ashappleton.com). She shoots images that raise awareness, tell stories, or showcase development projects and programmes. She also works as a video producer for the Earth Negotiations Bulletin.
When not communicating on sustainable development, Asheline enjoys designing interiors, relaxing in the sun, and improving her Afro-Latin dance skills.
