Iliana Cardenas

Iliana Cardenas is a doctoral candidate at the University of Oxford's Environmental Change Institute, where she is specializing in the study of energy and water system interactions in the context of climate change. She also currently teaches environmental quantitative methods and is the Water Governance Topic Editor for the Global Water Forum. She carried out her undergraduate degree at the School of Civil Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton, UK, and her Masters in Climate Science at Columbia University's Earth Institute in New York City, where she also worked as a Research Assistant for both the Columbia Climate Centre, and the Centre for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN). Previously, Iliana worked as a senior consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mexico City, where she worked directly with the Mexican Environment Ministry on climate policy. She has also worked in the Environmental Statistics Department at the United Nations DESA in New York City, and at the Environment Directorate of the European Commission in Brussels.
