Keith Ripley is a Team Leader and Writer with the Earth Negotiations Bulletin, and since 1995 has run a consultancy in Latin American environmental regulatory affairs, Temas Actuales LLC. Keith also provides expert commentary on Latin American regulatory developments for an online global tracking service, Compliance2Product.
An American national, Keith has been a writer with ENB since 2008 and team leader since 2010, serving on many teams documenting chemical, waste, ozone and forestry negotiations, including the adoption of the Minamata Convention on Mercury and of the Montreal Protocol’s Kigali Amendment on Hydrofluorocarbons.
Keith's work in Temas has focused on chemicals and waste policy in the context of Latin America and the Caribbean, including authoring the book “Solid Wastes and Recycling in Latin America & the Caribbean: Trends & Policies.” He also authored the annual “International Organizations Regulatory Guidebook” from 1982 to 1995 and writes on environmental regulatory issues for many periodicals, such as Environmental Policy and Law.
Keith has a BA in Latin American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a MS in International Relations from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
