Laura Bullon-Cassis
Writer, Team Leader, Earth Negotiations Bulletin
Laura Bullon-Cassis is a writer and team leader with the Earth Negotiations Bulletin. She holds a Ph.D from the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, as well as an MSc in Global Politics and a BSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics. A Swiss-Spanish dual national, she has covered sustainable development and climate processes for ENB since 2017. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the growth of the social category of ‘youth’ in UN climate conferences.
As part of her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Albert Hirschman Centre on Democracy of the Geneva Graduate Institute, she explores new forms of climate activism, as well as how media and digital technologies - including frontier technologies - can be a force for more just and inclusive environmental decision-making, including for marginalized communities such as youth and indigenous groups.
Laura also has an interest in sustainable urbanization processes, having served on the Secretariat of the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development and as a Civil Affairs Officer for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.
