Sydney Hildebrandt

Sydney Hildebrandt is a Publishing Officer based out of IISD’s headquarters in Winnipeg, Canada. Prior to joining IISD, Sydney was the night editor for The Brandon Sun, where she was responsible for leading a team of several writers and editors, editing newspaper copy, and undertaking a series of graphic design and website responsibilities. Throughout her career, Sydney has worked in print, digital, and radio journalism at outlets across Manitoba and Ontario, Canada, with a focus on local news. Growing up on the family farm, Sydney has witnessed firsthand the impact of climate change on agriculture in the Canadian Prairies, inspiring an interest in food security and sustainable agriculture practices.
Sydney holds a bachelor’s degree (combined honours) in journalism and geography from Carleton University.
