IISD is in talks with the Centre for Green Mobility, India on the use of SAVi for non-motorized urban planning in New Delhi. The city faces high levels of traffic congestion and air pollution, which are already having negative repercussions on health, productivity, investment and quality of life. The centre is working with public agencies on plans for self-contained, multiple-use neighbourhoods where living, working and leisure activities will take place in close geographic proximity, reducing the need for long commutes. Further discussions are planned for April and May 2019.
