Mining can do more than create wealth: it can benefit entire countries. For this to be a reality, however, mining projects must be undertaken in a sustainable manner which take into account social, environmental, and economic realities.
This is why we launched a call for proposals for civil society organizations to put forward projects for SAVi applications in mining. This call is in partnership with the Heinrich Boll Foundation based in Cape Town, South Africa.
We are pleased to announce the Centre for Environment Rights in South Africa are seeking a SAVi valuation on risks and externalities of mining projects and coal power plants. We have begun discussions with the Foundation and Centre on the design and feasibility of SAVi analyses.
