Liesbeth Casier is a Policy Analyst with IISD’s Economic Law and Policy Program. In her work on the Sustainable Asset Valuation (SAVi) tool, she interacts with governments to define the risks and externalities that are material to infrastructure projects. She also runs workshops for prospective and current clients on sustainable infrastructure planning, procurement and finance. She works with a team to prepare the final reports on each SAVi application.
Liesbeth is currently working on SAVi assessments in Morocco and Senegal.
Liesbeth previously worked with UN Environment and started her career as consultant in audit and corporate finance with a family-owned consultancy business in Belgium.
Liesbeth has an academic background in political science and law. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva, Switzerland). She also has a Master’s degree of Complementary Studies in Business Economics and a Master’s degree in Political Science, both from the University of Ghent (Belgium).
Liesbeth works in Dutch, English, French, and Spanish.
