Marie-Eve Levert

Marie-Eve has over a decade of experience in the organic industry. Since the beginning of  her career she has been working with key industry players such as seed growers, farmers, grain traders, processors, food and beverage companies, and regulators. Her extensive and multifaceted background led her to oversee organic trade missions in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and to liaise with Canadian and foreign governments on policy and regulatory issues.

Marie-Eve served as the Co-Chair of the Organic Value Chain Roundtable (OVCRT) for two years, a forum that united the organic industry and the federal government to address sector-wide issues. In 2019, she founded her consultancy, Levert Organic Strategy, with the mission of supporting businesses and non-profit organizations dedicated to the organic principles of Ecology, Health, Fairness, and Care.

Since 2019, she has collaborated with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) voluntary standards group, providing advisory services to foreign governments and farmer associations in Madagascar, Uganda, and Pakistan on developing organic regulations, policies, and programs.

Currently, Marie-Eve is the Chair of the Technical Committee for the 2025 revision of the Canadian Organic Standards (COS), an industry-led standard.

Marie-Eve holds a B.A. in International Relations and Law, as well as an M.A. in Public Administration.
