Sustainability Standards Advisor

Vivek Voora has been working with IISD for over a decade on a range of challenging sustainable development projects. He co-managed the State of Sustainability Initiatives (SSI) with its founder for over five years and contributed to several key publications such as the Standards and the Green Economy and the Standards and Biodiversity Reviews as well as the joint ITC and FiBL State of Sustainable Markets reports. Some of his novel contributions to date include co-developing a market reporting method that addresses multiple certification and the Sustainable Marketplace publication. He is currently working on a Standards and Finance Review and collaborative information platforms to fast-track sustainability in supply chains. 

Vivek holds a Masters in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University and an International Master of Advanced Studies in Development Studies from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. He is completing a PhD at Central European University on examining the role of voluntary sustainability standards in enabling resilience among farming operations. As a professional engineer with a chemical engineering and society background, Vivek brings a unique problem-solving perspective to address sustainability challenges.
