Grievance Mechanism – Dire Dawa
To submit a grievance related to the SUNCASA project in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia, please follow the instructions outlined below.
- Based on an existing mechanism used by Hararghe Catholic Secretariat (HCS), developed by the HCS Safeguard Specialist.
- Free hotline/call line posted in public areas (kebele where people gather for various administrative purposes): the hotline and additional information will be posted in a visible location.
- Suggestion boxes will be placed in project locations that are visible to the project beneficiaries.
- A grievance committee was set up at HCS.
- One member is assigned to collect grievances and report them to the committee for further action and potential escalation to the appropriate level (SUNCASA MEL)
- The committee meets as needed.
- Standardized template will be available to document any complaints received from the SUNCASA project participants/beneficiaries (a template will be prepared/adopted from HCS)
- The HCS Safeguard Specialist provided general safeguarding training for the SUNCASA project team.
