This webinar for WTO Delegates is part of IISD’s work aimed at supporting the current WTO negotiations to discipline harmful fisheries subsidies by the end of 2020.

This session will explore some of the strategies and options that WTO members could use to reform fisheries subsides, possibly as a result of new multilateral disciplines in this area. In particular, it will look at possible ways for governments to transition away from harmful types of subsidies and design measures that support fishing communities in a sustainable way, both from an environmental and socio-economic perspective.
