As part of its work on energy policy and sustainable development in Indonesia, the Global Subsidies Initiative (GSI) of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) publishes this regular briefing on issues related to energy subsidies.

This edition focuses on measures undertaken in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and related to subsidies to fossil fuels, the power sector, and renewable energy. Current estimates predict that the COVID-19 crisis will significantly impact Indonesia’s economic performance and the energy sector in the country.
